Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

...and gives you sore fingers too... I would use these as the lyrics for a song, but, that vapid Neil Sedaka would probably sue me. Anyway, Ma Bell did it, Brad & Jen did it, I got sore fingers from it. I took all my music posts and put them into a separate blog:

Intotune

This is for, what I'll call, purely musical posts, what the music sounds like. For the industry insider news, what it means, the socio-political policy... the RIAA rants... there's yet another blog:

IntoFreeMusic

You may have noticed the new links on the right. The other one is:

Intofilm

Which, as you may have guessed, is all the film reviews. Why did I do this? Well, aside from the obvious intrinsic enjoyment of revisiting all my rants and raves and pressing "Control C" more times than I'd like to remember, I have to recognize that I do need to get a bit more commercial here, expand my audience.

One of the ways to do that is by focusing in on potential markets. I believe strongly in this omnimedia, symbiotic manner of art and media. I make films, I make music, I make visuals and I write, on number of topics. The downside of this is that it's been difficult for me to get the necessary links to build my audience, because my scope is too broad. One way to correct this and still keep the basic broad approach is to break up the blog into some smaller pieces.

What inspired me to do all this is a gig I took recently with Slashfilm, a blog about film. Jon Christensen, Melissa Lim and I will be writing reviews and posting film industry news. We are currently in beta and plan to launch September 1st. I'll keep you posted.
