Guns & Software

What do these two have in common? Well, as this very interesting article points out, both can be used to commit crimes. One facilitates murder and the other the copying of copyrighted content. Bush supports the makers of one and would like to obliterate the makers of the other. Care to guess which is which?

However, as these theories of contributory infringement slog through the courts, it will be interesting to see where the judiciary wants to place the most responsibility. I hope when the court decides to hold companies liable for the actions of those using their products, it will take into account the size of the entity, as this very astute author does, and will also consider the industry and public welfare.
